From Denver International Airport (DIA) to Boulder

  • Exit Denver International Airport via Pena Boulevard
  • Follow traffic signs to "Denver", via I-70 westbound
  • Exit I-70 on to I-270, direction "Fort Collins/Boulder"
  • Stay on I-270 as it merges with Highway 36, direction "Boulder"
  • Continue on Highway 36 until you reach the "Table Mesa Drive" Exit
  • Proceed west on Table Mesa Drive, up the NCAR Mesa Lab drive until you reach the facility.

The Super Shuttle offers door-to-door service from DIA to all Boulder hotels. The cost is $18 one-way. You cannot make reservations in advance. Upon arrival at DIA, check-in at the Super Shuttle desk on the ground transportation level. Vans leave DIA every hour at :10 past the hour from 8:10am to 11:10pm. It takes approximately 1 hour to get to Boulder. (For return to DIA, you must call Super Shuttle to arrange pick-up at either the hotel or NCAR. Super Shuttle's phone number is 303-444-0808)

RTD (Regional Transportation District) provides bus service from DIA to downtown Boulder. The buses are very comfortable and air-conditioned with luggage storage. The cost is $8 one-way (you must have exact change). Schedules can be found on-line at www.rtd-denver.com/RoutesAndSchedules Click on Schedule Finder and then select Route: AB. Board the bus at Lane 3, Door 506 for West Terminal or Lane 3, Door 511 for East Terminal. Take the bus to the last stop, Boulder Station (BLDR STAT in the on-line schedule). You can then take a taxi to your hotel. The Boulder Yellow Cab phone number is: 303-442-2277.

Getting around Boulder

NCAR Shuttle information will be at the front desk of the Golden Buff Lodge. The NCAR Shuttle offers service between all NCAR buildings and several locations in Boulder (including a stop at Crossroads Mall across the street from the Golden Buff Lodge).

University of Colorado shuttle van service will be offered between the Golden Buff Lodge and NCAR for the following times:

June 7:
8:00am pick-up at Golden Buff (arrive NCAR 8:20am)
5:30pm pick-up at NCAR (arrive Golden Buff 5:50pm)
June 8:
8:00am pick-up at Golden Buff
8:30pm pick-up at NCAR (after dinner)
June 9:

The HOP offers service between the Crossroads Mall (across the street from Golden Buff), the University, and downtown Boulder. It runs frequently, approximately every 15 minutes during regular daytime and evening hours and approximately every 30 minutes during off-peak hours.
